A Stock-on-the-Ground program is designed and operated similar to Vendor Managed and Customer Managed Inventory programs, and resembles a “just in time” program. Alliance Forest Products would determine your pallet or crating usage trends, then calculate the amount of inventory we would retain as inventory, or your “stock on the ground.” We would build ahead an agreed-upon quantity. When your pallet inventory reaches an established minimum level, you would notify us that you need another “release” of inventory delivered. For example, if your usage trend is 100 per week, we would build ahead a quantity of 300, deliver 100 to you and store the remaining 200. Once the level of pallets retained in inventory is reduced to 100, we would automatically process an order for 300 more.
