WOOD RECYCLING
Today, recycling is a major focus for companies nationwide and covers a wide spectrum of products and materials. Many manufacturers have not only established and implemented a very comprehensive “green” agenda; they’ve created a department within their company whose primary thrust is the recycling of their waste and refuse. Alliance Forest Products implemented and strives to maintain a “green” agenda as our commitment to the environment. Our “green” agenda is simply to:
Recycle as much wood waste as possible in an effort to
reduce the amount currently being hauled out to landfills.

Our recycling efforts begin with our company scheduling wood pallet and scrap removals as an added service to our customers. Most removals are for used and damaged wood pallets but some also contain scrap lumber.
We can haul out wood waste either scheduling a “live load” at your facility; or establishing a “drop and hook” removal program. We’d drop an empty trailer in your dock, then when you notify us the trailer is full, we would bring another empty trailer in and haul out the full trailer. |

WOOD RECYCLING INITIATIVES
Wood pallet and scrap removals are unloaded and sorted. Used pallets in good condition are immediately placed into inventory for resale. Pallets requiring a minor repair (i.e. replacing a broken board) are fixed then placed into inventory for resale. Pallets too damaged to repair are disassembled. The usable boards that are salvaged are used to repair used pallet and to build “remanufactured” combination pallets.
Boards and scrap lumber that can’t be salvaged go to a grinder where it’s ground into mulch for sale, returning it to earth in a natural and biodegradable form. Wood scrap is also ground into wood pellets and sold where it’s burned for fuel. Both processes represent a 100% recycling effort.
We supply used and recycled pallets as a low-cost alternative for our customers. This is a great option when it’s a shipment that’s not required to be on a new pallet; or if you’re shipping cargo out once and you won’t get the pallet returned.
Used Pallets: used pallets are obtained primarily through pallet and scrap removals from our customers The good pallets are sorted out for resale. Although these pallets have been used they’re not "used up”. They’re structurally sound and can be heat treated for export.
Remanufactured (“Reman”) Pallets: these are pallets built from scratch using all recycled boards and stringers that were obtained from disassembled pallets.
Combination (“Combo”) Pallets: these are pallets built from scratch using a combination of new and recycled boards and stringers.
Both Reman and Combo pallets can be ordered built to an existing spec or to a specified size and type. Although these pallets are built using recycled lumber they’re structurally sound and available in quantities large or small. Reman and combo pallets can be heat treated to meet all ISPM-15 government regulations for export shipments including the IPPC stamp requirement.
