HEAT TREATING FOR EXPORT
 |
| HEAT TREATING CHAMBER |
For any cargo being shipped overseas Alliance Forest Products can provide the Heat Treating process for any pallet, crate or engineered lumber, in order to meet all government export requirements. This will assure that your shipment is ISPM-15 compliant and marked with the IPPC stamp requirement. KD-HT lumber will meet all ISPM-15 compliance for Heat Treating because it’s almost always dried at the mill to reduce the moisture content. KD-HT (Kiln Dried Heat Treat) is performed at considerably higher temperatures and is a longer process. Mills usually stamp their lumber grade which includes the KD-HT imprint. All wood pallet manufacturers and suppliers are required to comply with all government regulations for overseas shipment.
Who is the IPPC? The IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) is an international treaty to secure action to prevent the spread and introduction of pests of plants and plant products, and to promote appropriate measures for their control. It’s governed by the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) which adopts International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs).
